Tobi Collaboration

So I know its been a while since I have posted but what better reason to get back into it than a fashion post right. I promise I will do better y'all but with holidays a almost 6 month old baby and a husband it has been a little crazy in our household. When Tobi reached out to me about collaborating with them I was so excited because this is one of my top favorite online shops.

Tobi is a online clothing site, that I already shopped at before they contacted me. Their clothes are awesome with great quality and they have all latest trends. They are based out of Southern California and they design and develop all their clothing straight out of their headquarters in Los Angeles

One of my favorite things about shopping at Tobi is they offer  50% your first order with them and they also always have some time of sale going on that is 50% off dresses, tops..etc. I love a good deal and their sale items do not disappoint.

Something that I love to do when doing clothing collaborations with companies is, I like to wear the items I have received ahead of time and style them maybe 2 or 3 different ways for different occasions. This helps me see how I feel in the clothes and if the styles I choose are the right ones for me because you can't take photos in something that you're not comfortable and feeling sexy in, right?

Okay so here we go...

This may be the realist post ever...

I was in the shower, you know trying to relax and have my 5 minutes of alone time before it is time to nurse Ezra again. Instead I was picking my husbands pubic hairs out of this fancy little shower mat I picked up from Home Goods for 10.99 that is suppose to massage and clean your feet. Yeah you read that all right but just incase you think you didn't go ahead and re-read it again, I'll wait....

So I stopped and thought to myself, is this really my life. My husband walked in with a slight attitude after coming home from work and I am already annoyed because this past weekend alone was the longest of my life. He got is wisdom teeth pulled and the world was over so the breaks that I would usually get I didn't cause he needed to nurse himself back to health(rolls eyes). Back to the shower though... I am 26 years old I have been married for almost 2 years and I have a 4 month old baby, but I can't help but to scroll through Instagram and be envious of the people who are single/married w/kids and traveling the world right now. I may never see the outside of this country while in my 20's because right now we got sh*t to handle. So instead I am home watching my 4month old, not working but working and loosing all sense of self.

Its Our Anniversary....( slow two step)

Thats right, today I have been writing on this blog for a year, and I can not express enough how awesome it has been, but actually I can and thats why I wrote this blog post.

This has been years in the making and I say this because there have been other times that I have made a blog and didn't stick to it because I had a fear that no one is really reading or that I was not interesting enough to be a blogger. I didn't have a fancy camera or time to take photos of my outfits, and lets be real I didn't have money to be buying these outfits, cameras and more makeup. I didn't feel I could be those girls that I subscribed to. I tried multiple times and different names and suddenly I woke up one morning and said to my husband I am going to try this blog thing out again, and I am going to call it "TheBlogXO". I didn't want some clever little name and I wanted it to be what I truly felt it was. A blog make will love and that when people read the blog blog they would find it comforting. So thats why I put the XO on it hugs and kisses are comforting to me and to anyone.  I had felt God tugging on my heart constantly telling me to use my voice. I have a testimony and I have this special situation God had put our family in, why not share it with others. I knew I wasn't alone in what I was going through but I felt I was.

Sex after a baby

Lets be real, Who really is trying to have sex after having a baby.... (I sure wasn't )

If you have been following me for a while you will know that sex is one of my favorite topics and also my favorite thing to do. Its great exercise and obviously great for your marriage, but after having a baby I can honestly admit I was watching the calendar, dreading my 6weeks to be up and I just knew my doctor was going to say you're clear to have sex now. Even though I was clear I still wasn't ready but I knew I couldn't hold out on my Husband for two long.

First Time Leaving Ezra

I know , I know it has been a while since I posted, but that is why I am back because In the matter of only 3 weeks so much has happened. There was a loss in the family and I also took my first trip away from home without Ezra and lets not forget I have had a horrible cold and Ezra and I were both sick. So who was with him while I was away you might ask, because everyone asks. His father, thats right there is another parent who is fully capable of taking care of their child too. Crazy right. (Sorry/Not Sorry for the sarcasm)

Product Review: Hemmed In

Hello Everyone!! I am back today with a product review. I recently received an amazing Carseat Canopy from Hemmed In. I absolutely love their product and what they stand for. Here is some stuff about the company via website:

: About Hemmed In ::
It's more than just a functional product: it's a story of Moms supporting one another. It's Motherhood being celebrated. And the clutter of life with baby being simplified, so that the slower moments can be savored.

Hello Ladies, So I told you all that I would post about the wigs you have been seeing me in lately, I got a little crazy with the wig purchases cause this mom needed a new look or looks.

The return of Aunt Flow...

So Aunt Flow has come back to town, and I will be 8 weeks postpartum this Saturday, what the heck right? Of course as a first time mom who is exclusively Breastfeeding I always heard that you don't get your period back until some months to a year later. So you can see why I am so surprised by the actions of my body right now.

My Marriage After a Baby..and how we prepared our marriage for a baby..

Though we have only been parents for 6 weeks I have seen a crazy shift in our marriage. There is so much more love...

Most of you know that early in my pregnancy my Husband lost his job and we found ourselves pregnant, jobless and moving in with my mother in law. That experience changed us. There was less love, communication and connection. It was because the one thing that brought us together the most(church..He was a worship pastor and I was a youth leader) was what put our family in a rough situation. We didn't understand but we knew God had a plan.

Blackshers and Baby ( 1st Month)

Yes you read it right, my baby boy is already a month old!! I still can't believe how fast the first month has gone by, and he already looks so different. My Husband and I are first time parents and before you have the baby,  people you will get everybody on the block telling you how your life is going to go after the baby gets here.

-You won't get sleep
-You won't be able to go anywhere anymore...(aka no social life)
-It will be a struggle to get ready
-Sleep when the baby sleeps
....and so on.

Lets Breastfeed( Week 3)

Hey y'all, I'm back at it again with the breastfeeding update for week 3....

Week 3 was definitely a easier week for me.  So easy that I don't think I will have much to say about it. It has definitely been less painful and it is getting easier each day! He is latching on better, but he is getting a bit greedy with it. I know its normal for babies to spit up but last week he was just spitting so much, I thought maybe its something I am eating cause I have been extremely addicted to Cheeze-it's lately(but I am still eating healthy so don't worry). We saw the doctor last week and he said its normal, and Ezra is growing perfectly so thats great news!!

Lets Breastfeed (Week 2) #Cryingoverspilledmilk

Hey everyone, I am back with week 2 of my breastfeeding journey. I really give it up to women who have been breastfeeding with multiple kids 'cause I can hardly get it down with one. In all honesty though the 2nd week wasn't that bad at all.

My breast are still really tender and it does still hurt from time to time but there are days when I feel nothing and I can breastfeed like a pro but then it catches up with me and I begin to get emotional and  question how long I can keep doing this. There are night when I  am beyond exhausted and when its time for that 2am feeding I am just emotionally broken. Its hard getting use to not being selfish anymore, but at the same time you know you have to feed your child and you also want to. even though I have some rough night I wouldn't trade those 2am feedings for the world.

Lets Breastfeed ( Week 1)

Yes you read the title right! I am going to begin a series on my experience breastfeeding the month. I know lots of women want to do this for their babies and especially for first time moms we don't realize the pain and sacrifice and emotional roller coasters we will go through just to give our baby what is best for them. So every week I will share my thoughts and feelings and hopefully this will connect with someone and you'll know you are not alone or even for moms to be who are going to breastfeed you will see what you maybe feeling is absolutely normal.

Labor and Delivery Story

Well hello there everyone! It's been so long and guess what my baby boy has made his arrival!!! I was 41weeks and 2 days! Gave birth to my son Ezra on June 4th, 2016!

Well my labor and delivery wasn't like what I thought! Waking up at 3am with contractions and my water breaking, having to rush to the hospital. In a perfect world maybe but I had to be induced! I was in labor for almost 24 hours exactly! They started me off by giving me a pill that would hopefully get me to dilated more cause I was only 1.5cm coming in, it wasn't working and they didn't want to give me another dose cause the baby's oxygen level was going up and down. So they decided to manually open me up! They used this water balloon like device that inserted in my cervix and it filled up with water. After doing that I was 3cm. My contractions started to get stronger after they removed it and when I say stronger I mean really strong!! I was able to handle it up to about 5cm. They had me on pitocin/oxytocin and started me off with a small dose and upped it more and more. When I got to 5cm my pain was on a level 20!! I asked for the epidural, let me tell y'all that I am glad God made this haha, but I wasn't glad about what I had to go through to get it!

Hey Every One, So I am officially 38 Weeks this week and sadly this may be my last post for a while because I am preparing for my sons arrival and when he is here of course  i'll be bonding and getting him on a schedule so I will have time to post again!

At 38weeks you should definitely have your bag ready for the hospital because your baby can come any day, but just incase you don't I will share with you what I have in mine and maybe that will make life a little easier on you. If you're reading this earlier in your pregnancy then that is even better!

I have been trying to do this update all week, but the third trimester has sucked all the energy out of me. I feel like its the 1st trimester all over again to be honest! Just last month I was waking up everyday, getting dressed and putting make up on and now all I want to do is sleep and eat but I am still exercising!

Hey there everyone! So after a very eventful day yesterday I have finally gotten up and been able to look through all my baby shower photos! I was so pleased with how everything came out! I can thank Pinterest for all the inspiration it gave me!

Even though I was having a boy It didn't keep me from having a Kate Spade/Spring Floral baby shower. I love black and white stripes and I love floral print so it was just a must! I also don't like normal baby showers either with the animals and weird colors! haha.

Hey Ladies so today I have a review from You.Lingerie. This company makes affordable and gorgeous nursing bra for moms. I absolutely adore their bras because while shopping for a nursing bras I realized how much they lack that sex appeal to them. I love lace and something sexy on my body and they give you that and all the comfort that is needed while being a nursing momma.

What Is Natural Birth?

Medical Definition of natural childbirth. : a system of managing childbirth in which the mother receives preparatory education in order to remain conscious during and assist in delivery with minimal or no use of drugs or anesthetics.
Hey Ladies, so today I am going to quickly talk about a subject that I see constantly on social sites. I feel like for a new mom to be like me I want to change the way women talk to each other. We are so quick to judge each other and make child birth a competition instead of celebrating the beauty of it all no matter what way the baby comes.

New Wig Alert: Outre Lace Front Wig Tahitian

Hey Ladies, So I know if you have been on my Instagram lately you have seen photos of my new hair. So I wanted to give some quick details on it for you all.

So first off Yes its a wig and Yes I got it from my local Beauty Supply Store, but I won't leave you hanging like that I did some online searching and found the wig online at HairToBeauty.com The wig is buy Outre and its is a lace front wig her name is Tahitian. The Lace part of the wig will definitely require you to open it up for a more natural look to match out actual part. This wig is super thick and it came with this wavy pattern but I straightened and curled it with a flat iron at about 360 degrees. The curls definitely take well to this wig and last all day and the next day.  In the photo you will see her wearing it with a side part but in my photos I am wearing it as a middle part but you can see that you can switch it up from time to time which is great for me because I get bored really fast when it comes to my hair.

Hey guys, can you believe it is March already! Well I can't but in other news  I am back today with a review for a wonderful book that was sent to me called "The Daily Soul Sessions.. For the Pregnant Mama"

"There are 280 soul sessions - one for every day of this crazy, wild ride called pregnancy. This book is a reminder to live every day in the moment, forget the past, and focus on the positive. It's not a how-to or a guide to have the perfect pregnancy. It's inspiration...a spiritual cup of coffee for the exact phase of your pregnancy. It's a daily dose of soul, so you'll greet every day grinning at the world, spewing light and life until everyone around you wants to know your secret."

Life/ Pregnancy Update: 22-26 Weeks

Hello ladies and maybe some Gents, anyways who ever you are welcome to The Blog Xo. I for some reason feel like I am way pass due for a pregnancy update, maybe because it has been a really long month for me with. Have you ever just had the pregnancy blues? Well this is first child and given myself and my husbands current situation( No Jobs/ No Home with a baby on the way) I have found myself in a bit of a depressing mood. Its hard to be excited for a baby that you can't really prepare for. It has been killing me inside and I know I am pregnant so maybe thats why my emotions are all over the place but when I think about how hard its been for us and the lack of excitement we have for bringing a child into this situation, makes me want to cry every single time. On a brighter side I am now 27weeks and entering into my 3rd trimester. Crazy right??

So right now Im loving the "The Internet" I currently have their music on repeat and listening to it this very moment while writing out this post! Their music has a really chill HipHop R&B vibe, which is something I seriously enjoy especially while writing or driving anywhere.  The album that i'm addicted to right now is called "Ego Death". I am probably super late actually I know I'm super late this could of been my summer jams, but whatever better late than never. They are from Los Angeles, and first came out in 2011 and thanks for my Husband they have just now hit my ears and I am loving everything I hear. Make sure you go check them out and if you have Apple Music like me can listen to all the albums. Im not sure if they are on Spotify but if so check them out on there too.

Sex While Pregnant

From the name of the title you can already tell what this post is about, definitely something I don't see a lot of women talking about on social media at all. It has been all about the bump and the baby growth, but what about your partner. I mean he is the one who helped create the baby right? Sex is one of my favorite subjects to talk about, I like to joke and say I have the sex drive of a man and with all jokes aside I actually really do.

Gender Reveal On a Budget.

Happy New Year!! So this post is way past due but I wanted to share some of the budget friendly details of my Gender Reveal I did in November. Lets get right into it,I decided to do a balloon box reveal, so I went to Hobby Lobby for the fabric I wanted which was on sale for 30% off, grabbed some letters and a banner to hang on it and the total cost of that was less than 30 bucks because I also used my 40% off coupon on regular priced items. You can get that on the Hobby Lobby app, it definitely comes in handy.
